Cassidy, Shaheen, Scott, Kelly Introduce Bill to Allow HSAs to Be Used for Direct Primary Care
U.S. Senators Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA), Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), Tim Scott (R-SC) and Mark Kelly (D-AZ) introduced bipartisan legislation to lower the cost of health care and expand patients’ access to their primary care providers. The senators’ bill, the Primary Care Enhancement Act, clarifies the tax code that a DPC agreement does not make a patient ineligible to contribute to an HSA, and that and that pre-tax HSA funds may be used to pay DPC fees.
Alegeus Announces New CEO and Other Additions to Executive Leadership Team
Alegeus, has welcomed three new members to its executive leadership team over the past several months: Leif O’Leary as Chief Executive Officer, Shay Gonen as Chief Financial Officer, and Aditya Joshi (AJ) as Chief Product and Technology Officer. O’Leary, Gonen and Joshi will join Alegeus executive team to help lead the company through its next phase of growth, as former CEO Steve Auerbach steps into the role of Executive Chairman.
WI Submits Medicaid Demonstration Waiver, Health Savings Account Program
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) has submitted an amendment to their section 1115 Medicaid demonstration waiver “BadgerCare Reform” for Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) approval to leverage a Medicaid health savings account (HSA) program for childless adults in the state.
